1. Data Processing
SunBooks is provided as a Google Sheets template with embedded Google Apps Script that runs primarily within your own Google Workspace account.
Most bookkeeping data remains within your Google Sheets and Google account. SunBooks does not collect or permanently store your personal or financial data on servers operated by American Bookkeeping Services LLC.
Certain optional features, such as AI-powered transaction review, bookkeeping assistance, financial statement analysis, SMS updates, tax filing, payment processing, bank synchronization, or email delivery, require transmitting limited information to trusted third-party service providers solely to provide the requested functionality.
2. Access and Permissions
To provide core functionality, the Apps Script requests certain OAuth permissions from your Google account, including but not limited to:
Accessing and modifying your Google Sheets to manage bookkeeping data.
Sending emails on your behalf (e.g., invoice notifications).
Accessing your Google Drive files related to the spreadsheet.
No data is transmitted outside your Google Workspace environment except as necessary to provide features you choose to use, including integrations with services such as Square, Stripe, Quiltt, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Mailgun, TaxBandits, or other service providers used to deliver requested functionality.
3. Third-Party Integrations
SunBooks may integrate with third-party providers, including payment processors, bank connectivity providers, AI service providers, tax filing providers, and email delivery services.
Depending on the features you use, limited information necessary to provide those services may be transmitted securely to those providers. Examples include:
Stripe or Square for payment processing
Quiltt for bank transaction synchronization
OpenAI for AI-assisted bookkeeping and transaction review
Google Gemini for AI-assisted financial statement analysis
Mailgun for email delivery
TaxBandits for tax form filing and document requests
Your use of these third-party services is also subject to their respective privacy policies and terms.
4. Data Security and Responsibility
Since the Service operates solely within your Google account, the security of your data depends primarily on your Google account security. Granting access to this spreadsheet via sharing means that other users may be able to send invoices on your behalf.
We recommend:
Using strong Google account passwords and two-factor authentication.
Reviewing and managing the permissions granted to the Apps Script via your Google Account settings.
5. No Direct Contact or Marketing
We do not collect your contact details or send marketing communications beyond necessary service emails sent via your own Gmail account through the script you run.
6. Changes to This Policy
Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted on our website or within the Service documentation.
