Refund Policy for Apostille Services
1. Deposit and Final Payment:
Deposit: A 50% deposit is required to initiate the apostille service. This deposit secures your appointment and covers initial processing costs. The deposit is non-refundable once the service has commenced.
Final Payment: The remaining 50% of the total fee is due upon completion of the service, before the final documents are delivered.
2. Refunds for Deposits:
Cancellation Before Service Commencement: If you cancel the service request before we have begun processing, you may be eligible for a full refund of the deposit.
Cancellation After Service Commencement: If you cancel the service after we have started the process, the deposit will not be refunded. This is to cover the costs incurred in preparing and processing your request.
3. Refunds for Final Payment:
Completion of Service: If the service is completed and you are unsatisfied with the result, please contact us within 7 days of receiving the completed documents to discuss your concerns. Refunds for the final payment are generally not issued once the service is complete.
Service Issues: If an issue arises due to an error on our part or if the documents cannot be processed as requested, we will work with you to resolve the issue. Depending on the circumstances, a partial or full refund of the final payment may be considered.
4. No-Show or Failure to Provide Required Documents:
No-Show: If you fail to attend a scheduled appointment or provide the necessary documents, the deposit will not be refunded.
Incomplete Documentation: If the documents provided are incomplete or incorrect, additional charges may apply, and the deposit will not be refunded.
5. Refund Request Procedure:

Processing Time: Refund requests will be reviewed and processed within 4 business days.

Refund Policy for General Notarization Services Directly With First Light Notary (Not with a loan signing contracting service)
1. Deposit and Payment:
Payment Terms: Full payment is required at the time of service unless otherwise agreed upon. Payments can be made via credit card, cash, or check.
2. Refunds for Cancellations:
Cancellation Before Service: If you cancel the notarization appointment at least [X] hours/days before the scheduled time, you may be eligible for a full refund of the payment.
Cancellation After Service Commencement: If you cancel the service after we have arrived or commenced the notarization process, the payment is non-refundable. This is to cover the time and travel expenses incurred.
3. Refunds for No-Shows:
No-Show: If you do not attend the scheduled notarization appointment or fail to provide the required documents, the payment is non-refundable. This includes cases where the appointment was missed or the client was not present at the agreed location.
4. Refunds for Notarization Issues:
Errors in Notarization: If an error occurs due to a mistake on our part, please contact us within 7 days of the notarization to discuss the issue. We will work to correct the error. If a resolution cannot be reached, a partial or full refund may be considered based on the circumstances.
Invalid Documents: If the documents are invalid or cannot be notarized due to reasons beyond our control (e.g., incorrect information or expired identification), additional fees may apply, and the initial payment will not be refunded.
